Book Tour Highlights!
Back home after a fantastic book tour in Montreal & Laval, and what a wonderful journey it has been! Speaking with high school students in 6 classes, 2 of which were at the high school where the book is set, was the icing on the cake. Just as catching up with old friends and family at my book launch was the cherry on top! And to the book stores and libraries across Montreal & Laval that are now helping me get my book out into the world: a huge thank you for keeping my journey on track! Sky-Bound Misfit is now available at Paragraph Books, Argo Bookshop, Librairie Clio, several libraries, and will hopefully be on the shelves at Chapters/Indigo soon (currently available through their online system: chapters.indigo.ca).
I had the pleasure of speaking to a full house of wonderful people during my Sky-Bound Misfit book launch on March 1st, many of whom were old friends who came out to cheer me on as I talked about my motivations for writing Sky-Bound Misfit and read excerpts. It was a truly heart-warming experience. My guests included a child-care worker whom I hadn't seen since age 18. Ross was an important member of the support team who helped me through my toughest times during my teen years. As my book is based on my own experiences of bullying and sexual assault during my teen years, it meant a lot to me to be able to share my book with Ross, with my parents, and all the others who were there for me over the years and who helped me learn to thrive again. A huge thanks to my support team!
